Έλενα Κουντουρά: «Η λύση δεν είναι άλλη μια Μόρια. Η ΕΕ να αναλάβει τις ευθύνες της δείχνοντας αληθινή αλληλεγγύη απέναντι στην ανθρωπιστική κρίση»

- Το νέο «Σύμφωνο για το Άσυλο και τη Μετανάστευση» πρέπει να περιλαμβάνει την υποχρεωτική και αυτόματη μετεγκατάσταση των αιτούντων άσυλο σε όλα τα κράτη μέλη της ΕΕ και σταθερό και προκαθορισμένο ποσοστό καταμερισμού των προσφύγων
Την Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση να σταθεί στο ύψος των περιστάσεων που επιβάλλει η ανθρωπιστική κρίση με επίκεντρο τη Μόρια και να αναλάβει τις ευθύνες που της αναλογούν στο προσφυγικό ζήτημα, κάλεσε η Ευρωβουλευτής του ΣΥΡΙΖΑ- Προοδευτική Συμμαχία Έλενα Κουντουρά, μιλώντας στην Ολομέλεια του Ευρωπαϊκού Κοινοβουλίου.
Απευθυνόμενη προς την Επίτροπο Εσωτερικών Υποθέσεων της Ε.Ε. Ίλβα Γιόχανσον και τη Γερμανική Προεδρία, η κυρία Κουντουρά υπογράμμισε ότι η ευρωπαϊκή πολιτική για το προσφυγικό έχει αποτύχει και οι ευθύνες αυτής της αδιέξοδης πολιτικής μετατοπίζονται από την ΕΕ των 27 στις χώρες υποδοχής.
« Η μέριμνα για τους αιτούντες άσυλο δεν είναι ευθύνη της Ελλάδας ή της Ιταλίας. Είναι ευθύνη Ευρωπαϊκή. Και η Ε.Ε. πρέπει να αναλάβει το μερίδιο ευθύνης που της αναλογεί. Ως πότε θα δεχόμαστε να σηκώνουν το βάρος της ευθύνης για το προσφυγικό τα ελληνικά νησιά;»
Αναφερόμενη στη Μόρια, εγκάλεσε τις αρμόδιες ευρωπαϊκές αρχές ότι δημιούργησαν μία μορφή άτυπων φυλακών, παραβιάζοντας κατάφορα το Διεθνές Δίκαιο των προσφύγων.
Και τόνισε εμφατικά:
«Η λύση σε αυτή την ανθρωπιστική κρίση δεν είναι άλλη μια Μόρια. Χρειάζεται απάντηση ευρωπαϊκή στη βάση μιας αληθινής αλληλεγγύης!»
Η κυρία Κουντουρά πρόταξε ως επιτακτική ανάγκη τη σύγκλιση έκτακτης Συνόδου Κορυφής της Ε.Ε. για την επίλυση της ανθρωπιστικής καταστροφής και την αποσυμφόρηση των νησιών.
Η ευρωβουλευτής ζήτησε επίσης από την Επιτροπή να διασφαλίσει την υποχρεωτική και αυτόματη μετεγκατάσταση των αιτούντων άσυλο, με σταθερό προκαθορισμένο ποσοστό καταμερισμού των προσφύγων σε όλα τα κράτη της Ε.Ε., ως τη βάση για το νέο «Σύμφωνο για το Άσυλο και τη Μετανάστευση» που αναμένεται να παρουσιαστεί στο τέλος του Σεπτεμβρίου, ώστε να είναι βιώσιμο και δίκαιο.
Συμφώνησε η Επίτροπος Γιόχανσον με την Έλενα Κουντουρά
Η Επίτροπος Γιόχανσον στη δευτερολογία της έκανε ειδική ονομαστική αναφορά στην παρέμβαση της κυρίας Κουντουρά. Συμφώνησε απόλυτα με την κατηγορηματική θέση που εξέφρασε η Ελληνίδα ευρωβουλευτής ότι δεν πρέπει να υπάρξουν άλλες Μόριες και δήλωσε ότι στο νέο Σύμφωνο θα προβλέπεται υποχρεωτική αλληλεγγύη.

- The new “Pact on Asylum and Migration» should be based on a mandatory and automatically triggered relocation system of asylum seekers to all EU Member States and on a fixed and predetermined refugee distribution rate.
During her speech at the Plenary of the European Parliament, MEP Elena Kountoura from GUE/NGL (SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance, Greece) called on the European Union to rise up to the occasion regarding the humanitarian crisis surrounding Moria, and to assume its responsibilities on the refugee issue.
While addressing the EU Commissioner for Home Affairs Ylva Johansson and the German Presidency, Ms. Kountoura stressed that the European refugee policy has failed and that the responsibilities of this deadlock policy are shifting from the EU-27 to the EU host countries.
«Caring for asylum seekers is not the responsibility of Greece or Italy. It is a European responsibility. And the EU must assume its share of responsibility. For how much longer will we accept the fact that the Greek islands bear the burden of responsibility for the refugee issue? »
Referring to Moria, she complained about the competent European authorities setting up a form of informal prison, in clear violation of International Refugee Law.
And she emphasized:
«The solution to this humanitarian crisis is not another Moria. We need a European solution based on true solidarity! »
Ms. Kountoura noted it is an urgent need to arrange an extraordinary EU Summit dealing with the humanitarian disaster and on decongesting the Greek islands.
MEP Kountoura also called on the Commission to ensure the mandatory and automatically triggered relocation system of asylum seekers, with a fixed pre-determined refugee distribution rate in all EU countries, which will serve as the basis for the new » Pact on Asylum and Migration «, expected to be presented at the end of September, in order for the Pact to be sustainable and fair.

Commissioner Johansson made special reference to Kountoura’s intervention. Commissioner Johansson completely agreed with the absolute statement made by the Greek MEP that there should be no more Morias, and added that mandatory solidarity will be part of the new Pact.
